The origin
Our dad never missed a game.
“When we were kids, we used to go to Cal games and try to talk to the players after. It was almost impossible. But the one time we got through — I still remember those players’ names. It meant everything to us. That’s why we built this.”
He drove us to Beach Chalet after school and stood on the sideline in the fog. He didn’t know the rules. Nobody in our family had played. He invested in everything he could find — clubs, camps, tournaments across California. What nobody gave us was a system for the other six days of the week.
The gap
We were ten before we touched competitive soccer.
The kids we played against had been in academies since they were four. Every practice was catch-up. Every rep had to count. That’s why Ascend is a system, not a playlist.
The journey
Every pillar exists because there was a session — somewhere on a Beach Chalet sideline or a Berkeley field — where we needed it and didn’t have it. We’re not selling theory. We’re selling the thing we had to find ourselves.
